A & J Euro Carp Sessions run fully inclusive trips to this established water close to the Croix Blanche. As with the Croix trips you’ll be picked up at Dover & transported to the lake by luxury coach. The food is of the same excellent quality while the fishing will be more prolific on this ‘runs’ type venue where the average will be high doubles, but with a very large head of 20lb+ fish. You will be accompanied at all times by an onsite bailiff.

The lake, Beaurepaire, is approximately 7 acres in size and is about 3 miles from the Croix Blanche complex. There are no designated swims but there’s plenty of room to bivvy up. The banks are sloping and slightly steep in places but at summer water levels this poses no problem. Certainly the Point area is flat enough for a group of anglers to bivvy up on, giving access to virtually the whole lake while allowing socialising.
Throughout the year the lake can change in depth quite dramatically as it is fed directly by the water table. The near by River Aisne often floods in the winter months and while it does not flood the lake, the water table is raised, sometimes by as much as 3 metres. This can mean that the banks can look quite different in early spring, or after very prolonged periods of rain and the central point area can become submerged. However during normal weather conditions water levels remain constant and during the summer months the lake depths vary from a few centimetres in the shallows to around 2 metres.
There is a fair amount of weed in the summer months but a large head of grass carp keep it in check and it usually causes no problems.

Sited in a portacabin near the entrance there's a hot shower and toilet plus a small kitchen area with gas cooker, sink, fridge, freezer, table & chairs.

Included in the price of the trip are your breakfast and evening meals. These will be prepared at the Croix Blanche and delivered to your swim - or you can come to the dining area adjacent to the kitchen - whichever you prefer. There is unlimited free tea and coffee... when you fancy a cuppa just go to the kitchen and there will always be hot water. There's a lunch and dessert menu if you fancy a midday snack, or maybe just a Mars Bar - they're always available (these items are chargeable).

There may be some original unknown carp which were stocked by the gravel company and we certainly know that in 2003 the owner stocked a large number of mirror and grass carp, including around 90 x 20’s to 27lb and 160 averaging low doubles.
This gives a total of around 250 carp that have benefited from the rich food resources naturally held in the lake and in addition have been fed on maize and pellets through the winter months - so weight gains have been significant. Around 30 catfish to mid 30’s were stocked in August 2006 and some of these are likely to be pushing 50lb+ by now.
These fish have seen little pressure so are still relatively easy to tempt. But don't take our word for it... Paul Mersh and 2 mates fished here for 4 nights in September 2006. They had 70 carp to 29lb, including 12 x 20's. Here's what he had to say:
" This venue is packed full of fish and has some fantastic swims on it. The carp are in good condition and can be caught on all methods all over the lake. We had a brilliant trip and would recommend this venue to anyone looking for an easy to find water, easy to drive to, good facilities and a few screaming runs as well!"
Paul Mersh, September 2006.
Beaurepaire is definitely a runs water – a great venue to consider if it's your first trip to France … or if you simply fancy some hectic action!
