General comments: Ron & Martyn of A&J were excellent guides who looked after us very well, both for fishing and socially, i.e. taking us out at night, but on the second day of fishing (Monday) police were on the bank and we had to stop fishing bacause we had no permits - this was very disappointing and put a bit of a dampener on the day to say the least. NOTE FROM RON & MARTYN OF A&J: Unfortunately due to the extended Bank Holiday we were unable to obtain the licences due to a stupid rule that they must be collected the day that the fishing starts (which was the Sunday). The Gardia are not understanding and rightly so! Rules were broken and unfortunately we copped it. Fortunately Ron and myself had licences so it didn't cause too much of a problem for the day.

General comments: Could be better organized @ venue. Not happy @ film crew fishing when we had paid a lot of money! (Note from Ron ....Film crew had 3 of MY runs ONE day ...but Mr Whittakar and the other two clients had all my runs the other days of the trip, as I put my rods out to get them extra runs each day)

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Monster halibut pellet hair rigged on a Size 1 hook, boated out to middle of the river.

Were the facilities what you expected? Excellent. We had the chalet right at the side of the river - just a minutes walk away. Comfortably slept 5 - good kitchen, toilets & shower. Best of all - barrel of beer on tap!

General comments: This was a really fantastic holiday. Ron's help & advice was invaluable in putting so many fish on the bank for us. He really is a top class guide. The fishing is truely out of this world - this has to be the best freshwater fishing on the planet at the moment. The way these magnificent creatures fight has to be experienced to be believed. Top class guide, top class facillities & unbelievable fishing!

Brief details of your catches: 76 Cats. 24 over 100lb 7 over 120lb, 2 over 130lb, 4 over 140lb the bigest one was 147lb. Total weight for the week was 5340lb. On the fourth day we had 3 tuns in the bank at once 110lb,121lb & 126lb.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: A good guide who knew where the fish would be and knew where to place the baits. When the time started to slow Ron rang the dinner bell, shortly into the fight we began to regret hooking yet another ton!!

General comments: The best holiday we have ever had! The travelling is second to none compared to a 6 hour treck into France. We hoped to catch a cat near to 100lb not 24 and both of our second Cats were 105lb & 147lb. If you love mud wrestling with catfish this is the holiday for you!
