What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Following Larry's advice I cast to the far margins (within 4 - 5 foot) using Quest Baits 20mm boilies, Special Crab and Rahja Spice.

General comments: October is a risky month, as it happens the weather was not helpful when fishing a shallow lake. Frosty on some nights & cold North winds during the day. Nevertheless, the location is most attractive and Larry & Heather could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Superb meals made up for difficult fishing conditions. It would have been of benefit if the fish had been feeding!

General comments: The hospitality from Larry, Heather and Steve is first class. They went out of there way to make sure we had a good a time at Les Genets. The fishing was very hard with the bitter cold weather. If I was a carp I would have hidden as well. One minute we had shorts on then we had thermals. We will definately be back to catch those beautiful carp that swim with the few we managed to pull out.

General comments: Very well kept lake in great surroundings, containing some of the hardest fighting Carp I have ever caught. Very friendly atmosphere with Larry & Heather as helpful as they could possibly be. All in all a great week. Graham. Brief details of your catches: Only fishing days (5 days) but had a good catch of 8 large fish - 37, 33, 29, 28, 28, 27, 26, 26, 23. An average size of just under 29lb which is excellent.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Hired the mobile home for the week so started fishing the pads end from directly outside the home. Took several fish (& lost a couple from there) until it went very quiet on the Tuesday. Moved ends completely and fished the road end for the day on Thursday, just literally fishing 1m out from the bank & sitting well back - took 2 nice fish during the day. Moved back to pads end for final day & took 2 more good fish. Bait was Quest Rhaja Spice & Special Crab (sold on-site). Several of the fish came to SCrab pop-ups.

Were the facilities what you expected? Yes - the mobile home is excellently equipped and the toilet & shower block spotlessly clean.

General comments: Genets is a gorgeous, peaceful water set far away from any noise or disturbance... it's so relaxing just being there. The fish are nearly all large specimens so you need to apply yourself to catch them - watch for signs of fish & be prepared to move your baits. Fish quietly and the results will come... and the high average size makes the wait worthwhile. The owners, Heather, Larry & Steve are genuinely nice people who will do everything in their power to make sure you have a good time. Listen to Larrys tips on the fishing as he knows the water well. General comments: Came for a fishing trip PB was 22lb broke this 5 times. PB now 33lb 2oz. Weather was heavy rain for 2 days but I found this best fishing. Very wet but very very happy!! Larry Heather & Steve were brill, not just content with making sure we were on the fish but that we had everything we could possibly need. Overall a fantastic hol & will be looking to come back in 2008 to top up my PB of 33lb 2oz if this don’t change in England. All I can say is thanks for putting up with us. Mr & Mrs Newton.

General comments: Don’t just dream of your perfect fishing holiday join Larry & Heather at Les Genets & your dreams will come true! From the moment we set foot in Genets to the very last minute Larry & Heather were on hand to help whether it be general chit-chat or fishing matters. The lake was stunning & very well looked after. Unfortunately Larry could not help us with the weather which was inconsistent throughout. All fish were in immaculate condition. If the weather had been better & small cats had relented our tallies would have been much better. One thing for sure we’ll be back next year for seconds. Tightlines. P.S.
