About Keith Arthur
Keith Arthur started fishing at four years of age in his native North London and has built up an encyclopaedic knowledge of virtually every branch of the sport.
He worked for 18 years in all aspects of the fishing tackle industry and began writing for angling magazines in 1981. In 1990 Keith began a column for Angling Times, which continues to today.
Keith entered the broadcast media with Wire TV’s Fisherman's Tales in 1994 and in 1995 was invited by Sky Sports to become resident expert on their new ’Tight Lines’ programme, hosted by former Radio 1 DJ Bruno Brookes. Keith is now the host taking over from Bruno in 2003 and Tight Lines is still as popular today as it's ever been, about to enter its 11th series - a mixture of news, interviews with leading anglers and fishing features. .
When TalkSPORT 1089/1053am decided to 'go fishing' in the summer of 1999 they invited Keith to present his own programme and Fisherman’s Blues was born on June 20th of that year. The title is taken from a Waterboys’ song, the programme’s theme tune. Now Keith can be heard between 6 and 8 a.m. each and every Saturday and Sunday on TalkSPORT 1089/1053am, giving his views on what he loves best: fishing...and if pushed, The Arsenal.

Still an active angler Keith has converted from an out-and-out matchman to a genuine all-rounder, although he still keeps his hand in the match scene, and has won at least one serious match every year since 1969!!
Although definitely not 'size-ist', amongst the big fish pictures in Keith's scrapbook are a 350lb blue marlin, thresher shark 350lb, hammerhead shark 317lb, tarpon 180lb and on a slightly smaller, but equally impressive domestic scene, rainbow trout 18lb 10oz, chub 6lb 11oz and 12lb+ barbel.
