General comments: Firstly the food was the best food we have every had during fishing. Everything about the place could not have ben better with us both achieving our Pbs. We must mention the superb condition of the fish, this is all down to Dave`s good managment of the lake. You would not have thought that these fish have been fish for all the year judging by their condition. All this leaves is for us to mention our excellent Dave and sammy were all week. Tip top host see you next year Simon & Duncan.

General comments: Alan comments; We were made welcome as soon as we arrived with a cup of tea, it was like coming to see old friends rather than people we had never met before, they made us very welcome from the word go. We found the whole place to have a family atmospher. For other anglers that are coming listen to dave`s advise it is worth it`s weight in gold. All the fish looked superb and in absolutly mint condition. We had problems with one of our cars and Dve and Sammy sorted all the repairs out for us with a local garage together with changing our ferry times, all this was done for us with a smile. Mel`s comments; The chalet was very comfortable with beautiful surrounding, plenty of places to visit even with youngsters. Our daughter Sophie who is 3 really took to Sammy & Dave and all their animals. A really good family atmospher and definatly a venue for the ladies as well. It was my birthday while I was there and Sammy & Dave made it very special, we will definatly be coming back to Lac du Val. Dave`s comments; About Sammy I love her and her David is a very lucky man and if he decides to run away with a french waitress I will marry her. Sammy is a excellent cook and very helpful the food was fantastic. The whole lake is beautiful and everything you would want on a carp fishing hoilday, Dave is a diamond and helps you in every way. Graham comments; Dave help me setup in the snags and I landed my first ever 2 x 30s being my Pbs, food was really good what more can you say about Sammy & David.

General comments: Weather played a part in our fishing, this week we have seen some lovely fish and being near the end of the year the fish we think are wising up and need to be fished for, but the fish was crashing all around us all week wetting our appetites all the time. General comments: A super place to fish no vermin whatsoever. We wouldn`t change a thing and next year we are going to have the chalet. Every swim had had there own features with fish in every swim. Sammy`s food was fantastic, we also brought nibbles for in beween but didn`t need them because the food was so good. David and Sammy were very informative and leave you to get on with it, but Dave was always on hand if you needed him and he is a walking talking living carp museum. A tip for other anglers, if you fish the dam wall check hook regular for they tend to blunt on the stones. Thank for a great hoilday see you next year..... Andy & Steve

General comments: We fished through wind and rain which we found quite hard, the weather was so changable. When we read the reports on the website it seemed too good to be true but now we have fished here we realise it is all true what is said about Lac du Val. At first we brought our own bait only to change over to Lac du Val`s because they did work and what we brought didn`t. We would have loved to have sat down with Dave on what works and didn`t, but the information came quite freely. We have all fished for a number of years and have never really thought of fish belonging to people, but only when you meet Dave and Sammy do you realise the love and dedication that has gone into the lake and the surroundings, it is a really beautiful place. We found both of them really approachable and we really appreciated all they did to help us, with the chats at breakfast from Dave and we found in the evening it was great to have a crack with Dave. We will definitely be coming back again. We found our first visit a learning curve, even though we didn`t have a lot of fish the big fish we caught were lovely and we have thoroughly enjoyed our week of sitting in beautiful surroundings. Dave & Sammy being two of the nicest people we have ever met. What more could you want? Steve, Greg, Derek, Geff and Tony

General comments: Cheryl`s comments. It was so lovely to come to France and find such a warm welcome, with Sammy & Dave you can see they both have a passion for the water, with a vast knowledge of the lake. We have already booked with Angling Lines to come back next year. This is the best venue we have ever been to in France by far. We had our 5 year old son with us and it was lovely that little Tim was made so welcome and the other anglers Josh & Ben became good friends. Once again Dave & Sammy thanks for a great week and we can not wait to return next year. Kieron`s comments. The fishing is excellent, not too easy and not too diffecult. There is a very big chance of hooking into something very exciting. Once again listen to what Dave says the Lac du Val bait is well established on the lake and the fish do not seem at all hesitant to take to it. I enjoyed the fishing here immensely and can not wait to return. On my last night I heard a fish crash like nothing I had heard before, it was like a sack of potatoes been droped from an aeroplane!! The passion that has gone into creating this venue by Dave & Sammy really shines through making this a very very special place to be. Cannot wait for next year. I LOVE IT.

General comments: The lake is very mature and so well kept. The fish stocks are excellent and the owners Dave & Sammy very nice people, Sammy`s food was excellent. The setting of the lake is so peaceful and relaxing and everything from start to finish is so well organised by Angling Lines regarding information you require to get there and anything else you require is on the website. Also the little shop on site has everything you might need like batteries, leads, hooks and bait it is also good the way you can order your bait and have it waiting for you on your arrival. General comments: The lake was in a beautiful setting, well kept and managed really well. Dave was a great help at all times and we would certainly would not have caught what we did without his advice. Breaking our PBs with the 40s. The meals was lovely home cooking and the puddings was out of this world. One of us brought our own bait but did not have a touch on it so changed over to Lac du Val Specials like us and started catching, so do not waste your holiday and stick with the venues baits as these are cheaper than what we brought, bringing baits from home is a waste of time. A cracking holiday all round and we will definatly be back. ANGLING LINES. We would also like to mention how helpful Angling Lines staff was in making this all possible as we had problems 2 days before we came and had to change one of our anglers, this they did by changing all the names concerned on the tickets and getting everything to us on time for our holiday all this done at no extra charge. General comments: Dave and Sammy are both very nice hosts who made us welcome. Dave is always on hand for advice. This is a very well run water,would like to go back and try for the 'big one'. The bait that Dave supplied works well for this water, but be prepared as it is more costly than you would pay at home. NOTE FROM ANGLING LINES: Lac du Val charge £40 or 60e for 5kg of boilies - this the same price Quest Baits charge for their boilies in the UK.

General comments: We enjoyed Dave`s stories throughout the week. There is a lot more fish than we expected in the lake. The shop onsite is a great asset. We found a baitboat is a must and all the fish came to Lac du Val Special boilies. When we return we have decided to fish strictly with Lac du Vals over there pellets as it proved more successful for the bigger fish. We also read a report from the Robinson party who said Sammy`s food was average this report by them proved to be an absolute load of bol...ks. Sammy`s food and Dave`s advice was brilliant. In my 10 years of carping in France these are the best conditioned fish we have ever caught, all of them in mint condition and deserved to be handled with care for future appreciation using proper size nets and unhooking mats. The tench in this lake are not to be ignored we had a 9lb 6oz which fell to Paul and the lad before us had a 12lb 2oz... in our eyes a fish of a life time. We week finished off we Dave`s fantastic stories and we all had a right crack at the lakeside. Paul, Neville and Joe

General comments: The whole place was great, we rented the top chalet this was very comfy and I can not wait to bring my mates back next year with me. General comments: This lake gets better and better as this is our second visit, Lac du Val is superb and we will be coming back next year for the third time. General comments: The breakfast was fair, but evening meal was poor. The owner was ever present at the lake, would not leave us alone. Will definitely book again for next year, maybe at a different venue. General comments: We enjoyed the whole week, the food was well worth having. Beat our PBs over and over, and we would not have achieved this hade we not changed our baits when we did. The food was excellent everything was excellent and we enjoyed the whole holiday with our PBs over and over.

General comments: As this was our second visit to Lac du Val we found the fishing together with fish much improved as we landed 6 PBs in one week. As usual Dave & Sammy were very friendly and we bribed them with Cadburys chocolate! Dave has a great tackle shop on site with all the particles and bait you will need. We made the big mistake of bringing our own bait with us and that was a big mistake as we ended up using Dave's. As well as being a lot of hassell the bait on site was cheaper and works better and believe me David knows all about his water and fish so listen to him. PS. bring more teabags and suger as Dave likes a cupper with his chocolate. Fantastic week see you again next year. Dave & Gary

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Lac du Val Special Boilies. All anglers should be advised that these are the best for this venue. This is not shown in any of your correspondence. Did not need to take so much bait.

General comments: I am at a loss to explain why your staff at the carp show advised us to catch the midnight ferry, so we could start fishing early. As the lake rules clearly state no arrivals before 2pm. We were actually in the area by 8.30am and the first day fishing was ruined due to lack of sleep. Also, why not use another ferry route, i.e. Le Havre, for more comfort. Not impressed. NOTE FROM ANGLING LINES: We offer ferry crossings to all the French ports. The nearest port to Lac du Val is Caen & this is the route that the majority of Lac du Val anglers use. Mr Bannister crossed Dover to Calais which is a cheaper crossing ... but a longer drive in France (around 6 hours) - this is probably why he opted for an earlier ferry. We always explain the pro's & con's of the various crossings and it is ALWAYS left to the customer to decide which crossing to use. It's always a balance between cost, time & convenience. We're sorry this appears to have gone wrong in this case.

General comments: This is a fantastic venue with Sammy and Dave giving you all the help you will need. Dave was extremly helpful with and self being a disabled angler he was always there when I needed him. I achieved my pb of 41lb 2oz and my brother Adam had his pb of 47lb 2oz mirror. But do listen to Dave as he really does know what his is talking about. We will definitely be comig back next year and we can recommend Sammy`s food to all you ladies who come because remember its your holiday as well. See you soon Scott & Adam
