General comments: The weather was sunny but cold but we was lucky it was dry. We found working with Dave an experience seeing the new stock for 2008 arrive and getting the chance to handle some big fish, (photos on the net) Dan's help was much appreciated by Dave. The fishery is excellent and the food is a compliment to the chef Sammy. Dave kept us ammused with his stories of the passed. We would like to come back when the weather is warmer.

General comments: This is our second visit to Lac du Val and the fish are of excellent quality and a credit to the owners. Sammy food is as excellent as every and we would recommend this lake to anybody and we have already booked again for next year.

General comments: Dave`s comments. The weather was variable and the fishing was hard but despite this a great time was had by all. Dave kept us entertained with his stories and fishing tips (Listen or you will regret it) Sammy kept us well fed with her all inclusive great value and great food. This was our 3rd trip to Du Val and we have already booked our 4th. I would like to recommend the fishery but I am frightened we will not get a place next year!! enough said!! Steve (Spoon) comments. This was my first visit to Lac du Val buy I will definitely return and would not hesitate to recommend the venue. It must be said that Dave`s passion for his lake and his fish is obvious and his willingness to share his knowledge was a real benefit if you ignore advice it will be at your own loss. Dave and Sammy`s hospitality is second to non and they are both great host, the food is excellent and this lead to a fantastic week at Lac du Val and could not be faulted we are now looking forward to the return next year. Highly recommended and thoroughly enjoyable. Gary`s comment. This is my third year at Lac du Val and I have just booked my 4th year Du Val is a nice relaxing place and I had 4 really nice fish which included a 41lb mirror my PB. Sammy is a perfect host and a very good cook just like your mum would make. Dave has some very good hints and tips and it really pays to listen to him. All our fish was in lovely condition a credit to Dave in all a great time was had by all. Thanks for a great holiday back in 2008. Les`s comments. I am a French virgin and I smashed my personal best with Dave`s help a beautiful 32lb. I now class Dave as my adopted dad as he provided me with so much help to the fact that he even fished with me down in the snags to help me with my first French fish. Sammy`s cooking is superb and her puddings are to die for and excellent fishery and the weather didn`t dampen my spirit or our fun. Thank you very much Lac Du Val and Angling Lines for arranging it.

General comments: We battled on through wind and rain and a real drop in temperature at one point we even fought with hailstones. But with listening to Dave which helped us, the amount of bait we used was 170kg pellet, 100kg partyblend, 40kg Lac du Val. We will be back next year.

General comments: The lake was excellent alround beautifully clean, and all the fish was of good quality. The food was brilliant infact everything was perfect. Dave`s advise was great infact a very friendly atmospher with a great bunch of lads, infact the whole place is like a big back garden. This is the second time we have fished in France and this place was a much more relaxed atmosphere all round, remember to listen to Dave.

General comments: We are recommending Sammy for a Michelin Star her steak pie is out of this world. The tuition from Dave is priceless, the shop on site has everything you could need. We had the chalet which was very comfortable and well worth having. Mike (feedback 30/6) was right about not to gamble with Dave!! enough said. Sammy`s breakfast keeps you going until the evening meal, we would recommend the venue to anyone it is a beautiful place and Dave keeps it immaculate.

General comments: Lee. I had a great time at Lac du val, the fishing was brilliant with the help of Dave and the food was absolutly wonderful and I hope to be back soon. Mike. The first thing that hits you at Lac du Val is the wonderful way the grounds and the lake are kept, fishing was fantastic and Dave was always on hand to help, I learnt a lot this week from him, what else can you say about Sammy`s food that has not already been said, I will be back. General comments: Sammy & David are lovely friendly people who will go out of their way with any help for you, Lac du Val is a lovely pictureques lake. Bringing the whole family carp fishing in France is a gamble, but not at Lac du Val, We found all the lads that was on the lake with us were great, Cheryl, my wife, will comment at the end of our second week with aour outings that we have been on due to us staying for 2 weeks. My first week has done well in front of the chalet with 14 fish upto 36lb 8ozs I only have to say that I wish I had listened to David sooner regarding the use of rigs and leads. I am now convinced that several of my runs where missed due to my own method of semi-fixed leads of which I use back in England. David is an excellent fishery manager and bailiff,. this was evident this week has he manged each angler on an individual basis and first gave them the chance to do their own things, yet still offered his advise when needed. I must say this is one very well kept fishery and should be seen as a benchmark for all waters everywhere. The fish are in lovely condition due to the firm but fair attitude of David regarding fish care and angling ethics. Well done Sammy & David once again what more can I say but INSPIRATIONAL!!

General comments: This was our first trip to france to fish and this will definitely not be our last and this will be the lake we will be coming back to. The lake is beautiful and cannot be faulted in any way, we all had our PBs. The shop on site is very handy. We had the chalet and it was lovely and comfortable. William, all the fish at Lac du Val are in excellent condition, the facilities were more than could be expected. Dave`s advice about fishing is outstanding and I have learnt loads of new things about carp fishing from him. Overall the week was fantastic. Sammy`s cooking is exceptional and is the nicest home cooking I have ever tasted. Thank you Dave and Sammy very much for a superb week. Sam Barrow. General comments: Zac. Well what a hoilday 3 forties in 24hrs this is a record I can not seeing being beat, this was all with the help of Dave`s advice, it is so worth taking, and has helped me achieve my life's ambition. Sammy`s cooking was excellent and fills you up for the whole day. This lake is truly amazing with us beating our PBs everyday. So I have left with a new PB a lake record and a trio of 40s in 24hrs so a dream hoilday and dream lake and a suberb host thank you Zac Hogsden. Adam. This is the really dream lakes. Listen to Dave he will catch you fish. Dave's bait is by far the best you can use, all the fish are immaculate I`ve no doubt this is due to Dave and Sammy`s hard work. Brief details of your catches: I caught a common carp weighing 18 pounds and lost two low thirties and an estimated mid twenty.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Fish snowman rigs using braided hooklinks and Lac Du Val special boilies, also feed loads of carp pellets into your fishing areas every couple of hours as the fish feed really heavyly and 1.5 kilos of bait every two hours will keep them going!

Were the facilities what you expected? They were better than expected!

General comments: Everything about this trip was memorable and was more than I could wish for. Dave and Sammy who run and own the fishery couldnt do any more than they did for me that week and they totally excelled themselves in the running of the lake and their hospitality! I have never visited a venue as beautiful, peaceful and of as great quality as Lac Du Val in 16 years of fishing!!!

General comments: This was our first week to Lac du Val and one we will never forget. Dave & Sammy made our holiday a delightful and brilliant time, with top cooked meals by Sammy with excellent service. You are made to feel very welcome as if you were at home. The fishing is super and the lake is kept extremely tidy and was a absolute pleasure to come here and have already booked up for next year. Mixed weather could have been nicer, but that is the way it goes. We can not wait to come back and was really disapointed about going home. It was also a pleasure to send and get to know the other anglers as they were all smashing people and we could not have asked for a better week. General comments: This is our 5th wek at Lac du Val and as ever it was fantastic and we have already booked for a further 2 weeks next year. The lake and the grounds are beautifully kept by David and are a credit to him, and as usual Sammy`s food was excellent and as always we enjoyed our evening cups of tea and chats with Dave & Sammy. this year the weather was very bad except for the last day when the sun shone all day. All the other anglers on the lake were very pleasant company and made of an all round good time. the fish here are wising up to mosr tactics so make sure you use strong hooks, 2 of us had them straightened out. What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Running leads everything simple. Lac du Val Specials, pellets and partyblend.

General comments: This is not our first visit to Lac du Val with yet again an absolutly fantastic weeks fishing. This year my wife joined in for a couple of days and landed 2 20s, 2 30s and 2 40s, not a bad start to her fishing career. As we booked the lake exclusive we were lucky to have the option to move into the chalet where it was warm and dry as it rained all week, but this did not affect the fishing in any way, (but it did affect my wifes tan). What a dream it was to have such a beautiful lake all to ourselves for a whole week, except the one day my wife dragged me into town for some retail therapy. Dave and Sammy were wonderful host as usual, always willing to help, but one piece of advise I would give to you would be to listen to Dave, his advise is paramount and I know it`s been written most weeks about using Lac du Vals boilies, use plenty of them because it works. This week I have used 50kg pellet, 40kg partyblend and 25kg of boilies but this has caught us over 50 fish which all were in lovely condition, heavy baiting at Lac du Val means more fish, the proof is in my catch rate having already booked for next year we will be back. PS DO NOT BE TO PROUD TO ASK OR TAKE DAVE`S ADVISE NOT MATTER WHAT YOUR EXPERIENCE, IT`S HIS LAKE AND UNLIKE OTHER OWNERS HE WANTS YOU TO CATCH FISH AND WITHOUT DOUBT HE KNOWS HIS LAKE AND SO HE SHOULD HIS LIVES, SLEEPS AND BREATHES THIS LAKE. What did you find were the best tactics/baits: With Dave`s advice running leads seem to do the trick, every fish caught on Lac du Val Specials fish over pellets and partyblend this seemed to do the trick fro us.

General comments: The lake was everything we hoped for and more besides, with us all breaking our PBs and we will definatly be coming back next year everything havs been fantastic. Sammy`s food was excellent and one of us is a fussy eater and manged to cater for him ( Phil) This is the best fishing we have ever had and we wonder haow we can go back to fishing for carp in England after this. Dave put us right with tactics and bait as I had never fish this way before but it worked well with 74 carp at the net. Every fish was caught on Lac du Val Specials and would really recommend them as they really do the business All the best Phil. Steve & Norman.

General comments: Doug & Ali. Great location, we only wish it was our back garden, Lac Du Val is a Credit to both Dave & Sammy. As this was our last fishing trip to France we were very dissapointed that Lac Du Val didn't release her treasures over 23lb to us, we would have liked to go out with an increase on our P.B's.The weather could have been a lot kinder to us, constant rain and strong wind, only 1 day of half decent weather. The hire of the Lakeside Chalet was a godsend. Dave is a pleasure to talk to and what he has acheived in his life puts most people to shame, and as for Sammy, what can we say other than Great Food, Great company, MANY THANKS. Our only concern was that we felt that we were being constantly monitored, the lengthy visits made to the lake by Dave, we felt were excessive, Whilst we appreciate that we were fishing in Dave & Sammy's back garden, it was very off putting and at times made us a feel a tad uneasy. Nick Reasonably week, bad weather, great lake, great hosts, what else but dissapointed not to have caught larger fish. Matt First trip to France had a good week, 1 x 35.5 & 2 x 36 Carp broke P.B by 21lb, bad weather, lake is a credit to Dave & Sammy listen to Dave it certainly helped me, many thanks to you both. What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Single boilie over very little bait. Most fish were caught at a distance or in the channel leading between the islands. Nothing caught in the margins. Double pellet produced two twenties, double boilie produced one twenty.

Were the facilities what you expected? All of the facilities were good - good food, toilet and shower fine, full tackle shop and a friendly couple.

General comments: A very pretty lake and the fish were in very good condition however, I felt that there were not enough choice of swims, most were only really fishable with a bait boat, also the size of the lake is misleading as the shallows is a non-fishing area and the channel between the islands is only available from one swim.

General comments: Our only 'complaint' was the amount of time the owner spent at the lake side. On the other hand he gave us valuable advice and support. We just felt we were being watched all the time! You are a great company, keep up the good work!
