General comments: Mehdi Couldn't have been more pleasant or helpfull. He Showed Best places of where fish " Hang out". Fantastic natural water with Big fish. Would definitely come back!

General comments: Wood chippings in swims will help. Facilities are clean and perfect, nice lake. Mehdi : The most beautifull laroussi mirror ! well done!

General comments: Laroussi is an excellent "Big fish" water. Fishing can be hard and slow but if your willing to work hard , find features, the rewards of a "Fish of a lifetime" can be found here. The owner Mehdi is a great guy, happy , friendly and full of informations and tips about the lake. "Top week fishing". We'll be back. Mehdi : Top Scottish angling ! 3 fifties !

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Quest Special Crab fished over Mehdis parti-blend mix. Used mixed sizes for baiting up 10, 15 & 20mm with 15mm hookbaits. Fished Point & Deux Seules swims. Fish in Deux Seules came from far margin & in the Pointe from far margin & out towards middle of lake

General comments: Not an easy week but what superb fish! You don't need many takes to keep you happy if you get specimens like this. As always Mehdi was superb. Already reserved our week for 2009 & 2010!

Brief details of your catches: Steve 31lb Mirror, John 39lb and 28lb Mirror. Fred (81 years young) sturgeon 46lb, 50lb 70lb+ bottomed scales out at 68lbs.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: small single or double baits, few boilies as loose feed. Fish were at distance.

General comments: This is not a 'runs' water but the chance of a big fish. 40lb-70lb. Did not take bait boats but on arrival found out that you can use baitboats even if you do not book the lake exclusively. It would have made a difference to our catch as fish were at distance, (not prepared to pay baitboat hire £105 per week)Disappointing. Angling lines you should advise on this. Medhi great guy, overall a great week, will return for a'lump' ******* NOTE FROM ANGLING LINES ******* Baitboats are NOT allowed on Laroussi unless the lake is booked exclusively. There have been some instances in the past where this has not been the case but Mehdi (the owner) tells us that from now on this is DEFINITELY the case.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Small baiting tactics, groundbait and partiblend in conjunction of small pva bags. Short hook lenght , barbless hook N°6 and 8.

General comments: Mehdi was a great host. Darran and Denis smashed Pb's with every fish landed just about. Difficult weather conditions. Fish feed in short spells.The 3 of us enjoyed the place immensely and definitely coming back next year. Fish were in mint condition. Mehdi comments : 7 good forties , 1 fifty and some lovely thirties for the smallest carp in march ! Well done, Top Irish angling. Superb dark fish. Excellent weight average.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: we used boiles for the sturgeon but i think they take most baits and thourgly enjoy the fight that these big sturgeon give you. and the carp was caught on bread crumb dynamite stick with a boilie crush combination all fish caught on richworth tutti frutti

General comments: we had a great time although fishing was slow. the sturgeon fight like its for there life and boy doews it give you a bad back. we did get alot of pickups and i think this may have something to do with the resident koi pu's. come on mehdi last time you had out your traps. although mehdi's son has been rather ill and we but the koi pu's down to this, as we have been three times and only seen the odd one last time. anyway thanks for all your help as ever and sorry about the delay with the photos are kev had them on his camera. thankyou doug
