General comments: What more can I say... top venue, top facilities. Would recommend it to anyone going france to catch stunning french fish. Out of my to trips iv had 43 carp an only 1 was a french looking fish.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: We found maize, tiger and boilie all worked well. Keep feeding a lot!

General comments: The owner/bailiff only came to see us once about extra bait and the removal of some weed would improve fishing conditions, apart from that Margot is a very special carp lake!

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: tigers./maize/some fish to boilies. fished over pellets/hemp/viterlin binder.most fish fell to boated out rigs hard on the bottom.stergion/cat fell to balanced baits two tigers to one plastic.all got knew pbs.

General comments: weed caused a few problems at first in front of swims but a bit of graffed in the sun sorted that.most fish fell at nght so gear up accordingly.be prepared for some heavy storms.

Brief details of your catches: Some lovely fish caught and everyone smashed there PB's.amonst them were, a grass carp of 38lb 7oz a catfish of 27lb 7ozmirrors and commons upto 31lb and in total 804 lb of fish caught,,cant wait to get back there.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: after a few days trying different things we started to boat our baits out to the hard ground,a started catching consistently,medium sized pva bags filled with maize and small halibut pellets dropped with double tiger nut hook baits did the trick.

General comments: what a place to fish, it was great, and we'll be back next year to get some of the really big ones in there.one thing i will mention the frogs drive you mad with there deafening teatime clatter, so if you a light sleeper be prepared, i must say though we had a slight (MAJOR) problem with the amount of gear we needed to take and it would'nt fit in the van.one call to angling lines sorted that out and they added a trailer to our ferry tickets, what super helpful service they provide, great work and we'll be on the phone soon to re book.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Bait heavy in clear areas with maize and hemp brought on site. Use tiger nuts or maize for hook baits boilies did not work here for any of us. Found size 4 hooks worked the best on short hook links.

General comments: Best venue we have visited in France and we have been to a few over the years! Owners were very helpfull and very polite all of us would go back again not an easy lake but very rewarding if you put the effort in. Beware of the sturgeon lost 3 between us one huge fish at the net over 50lb according to the owner who was next to me at the time.Thanks to the owners and Angling lines for a fantastic week.

A Fish total of 111 for the week for the party. And what a party we had afterwards!!!

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Maize and Tigers over hemp got the most fish over the week, but boilies did catch allot of fish as well. Prawns popped up with a plastic floating tiger nuts taimed the sturgeon and the catfish. Trying something different caught the extra few fish.

Were the facilities what you expected? Facilities were very good.

General comments: Margot is a beautiful lake and holds some truely awesome fish. If it went up for sale tomorrow I know seven guys who would sell up and buy it. The water has that affect on you. We still wish we were there.

Brief details of your catches: I had 8 carp in total including the 53lb common and 3 x grassies over 30lb and a 23lb Koi. All commons 19, 23, 30 & 53lb. Week started very slow as the carp started to spawn. Most of mine came at the end of the week on Friday 13th... lucky for me though!Hooked a 49lb sturgeon and lost it at the bank!!

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: I fished peg 8. Placing the baits using the boats, light scattering only of baits, I used flourestcent baits squid flavour. No problem at all with poisson chats when I was there.

Brief details of your catches: I had a total of 16 carp, the biggest came just after setting up when I captured a 40.08 mirror. This was followed by a 32.06 and a 16lb in the same night. Unfortunately, spawning began and the lake was quiet for a few days but on Friday the lake came right back into action and I had the following catches... 12lb, 24lb, 8lb, 13lb 25lb, 33lb, 13lb, 32.08,15lb, 23.08, and then a 40.06 and a 21lb on at the same time!

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Sparse baiting really, didn't put piles in.Pity about the spawning!

Brief details of your catches: 35 fish in total, Everyone broke personnel bests with Commons to 32lb,Mirrors to 39lb,Grass Carp to 34lb, Sturgeon to 53lb and koi to 15lb. Great to see the fish putting on weight, the largest sturgeon caught by Gary Currane gained 6lb since i caught it last year.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: The fish were not really feeding, but saying that we had 35 fish between us. It was 15-18degrees during ther day but dropped to minus figures at night. My bait runners froze a few times. After i blanked for the first few nights fishing boilies ,Either Maize or Halibut pellet were used as hookbaits . We only had 5 fish on boilies. The fishing was very slow with nearly all the fish coming out at night, just three coming out during the day. Halibut pellets and Maize hookbaits fished to small beds of bait did the trick.We nearly ran out of some baits and brought home a lot of boilies. I would probably just bring Maize Hemp and Pellet the next time i go at that time of the year

Were the facilities what you expected? They were the very same as last year, extremely good.

Were you happy with them? Great to have a hot shower and somewhere to have a chat and a meal with the lads

General comments: I will definitely be back, every year you gain more knowledge on the lake, i landed four thirties including two 30lb+ grassies. Condition were cold at night and warm during the day. I would like to thank Mr.Bigot and his family for their hospitality.
