Brief details of your catches: Commons of 14lb, 12lb. Mirror 44.4lb (pb). One big fish lost to a hook pull, one missed run.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: best tactics were to fish to the lillies or on the patrol routes between the lilly beds. All runs were on either 16mm hallibut pellet or maize. Weather was cold at night with frosts every morning. Temperuture usually 3 -4c at 8am. This slowed sport down. Not easy fishing, you have to work at it but very rewarding.

General comments: Lovely venue. Lesley very helpful (Gilles was away). Very long drive from Calais with the kids. Also the bikes on site are not worth bothering with as they are all in a poor state of repair. Generally very good holiday. Chuffed to bits with the 40 and will be back in 08.

General comments: A very picturesque setting. Brill for the family, the pool was kept clean. The hosts were great, very helpful. The only problem was the amount of lillies. They need thinning out.

General comments: Lotus is the best spot.This is a hard water to fish, don't be put off there are some big fish in there. It is a great venue for the family. Going back.

General comments: A stunning venue and location. The most picturesque water I have been to. Very friendly hosts and excellent lakeside accomodation. The fishing is far from easy and will provide a challenge however the rewards are well worth waiting for if you stick at it.

General comments: Accommodation good, but could do with a bit more maintenance on lake house, especially for families. This was a family holiday and I only fished nights. If you can be bothered to move around the lake you will catch a lot more fish! Stunning surroundings, could not wish for a more peaceful place to holiday.

Not forgetting Dad's Tench of 3lb!!!

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Boating the rigs out to feeding fish on the silt bed where the lilys come up on the far grass bank from the house. A lot of runs from against the small island and the first 45lb Mirror came from under the willow trees next to the swimming pool on the first night.

General comments: We could tell we were getting a first class accomodation from the pictures on the website & were not disappointed. We had read the previous year's feedback comments & knew we were in with a chance of a 40lb'er but would have honestly been happy with a 30 each and certainly were not expecting a runs water but how we were wrong. We couldn't position 3 rods with the boat before the first rod had screamed off and ended up with 550lb of fish in only 4 days light fishing (6 hours was probably the longest session). Toulouse & Bordeaux are both within about an hours drive and the location is idyllic, we'll be coming back.

Brief details of your catches: I fished for the Carp & took over 500lbs of fish in 4 days fishing....3x40's(43,45 & 46.8),4x30's,5x20's & 11 doubles. Dad float fished & took loads of silver fish & a 3lb Tench. The carp fishing was unbelievable, at times I didn't have time to set up three rods before each take and these figures would have been considerably higher if we had put the hours in, but we probably fished for only 6 hours on each of the 4 days at the lake.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Definitely use a boat to place your rigs precisely and provide around a dozen boilies together with response pellets as loose feed...Caught on all flavours tried, but Richworth Tuttis probably accounted for most of the fish.

General comments: Mas Bas, we were told, is not a runs water, but our 4 days fishing suggests that this season that may well change. The fishing was nothing short of remarkable. We caught at the rate of a carp for each hour fished and when they are up to 46.8 lbs, well that was what we came for!!!Check the log book for all the info you could wish for and walk the lake before you start, find the fish and then stay near your rods!!!
