Well we had a great week at M organe's on 5 th -12 th July - w e caught a total of 103 fish (2 were tench) .
Matt (aka maffro), my father (Bob) and me (Curly Pete) arrived from Calais about 2pm - the lake which was beautiful , teaming with 1000 ' s of carp fry.
We all set up rods on the platform for the 1 st part of the day and within 3 hours I was into my biggest fish of the trip (28lbs exactly) on tiger nuts.
We all had nice twenty pound fish that night (26, 21, and 20). We had tonnes of success on Ace Baits Squid and Cranberry boilies using pva bags or stringers with a few pellets. Trigga also did us well , landing the biggest fish of 31lbs to Bob. |

Most of the fish were doubles of about 11-14 lbs and fought damn hard. We had a few mishaps on the lake during the week.. I was 1 st to break my landing net, so we phoned A ngling L ines who got Simon Horton to direct us to a tackle shop in Angers. The shop was great (Botte La Peche I think It was called, right near the river on the opposite side of the castle.)
I spent 1 day on the catfish lake with fishmeal boilies (that I 'd made myself) and a baby common as live bait on the other rod. I had a 14lb mirror from the catfish lake on the boilies ... but the catfish seem to elude me somewhat. We all spent the rest of our efforts in the week trying to get a nice 30 or 40lb fish from the carp lake but never succeeded.

Maffro also caught a rat, and I (Pete) foul hooked a carp as I reeled in along a weed bed which gave me a great fight and I' m pleased to say it went back to the water happily after having a few drop of K lini k dabbed onto his dorsal fin.
When the temperature was over 30 degrees the fish didn't bite so we fished every night, with little sleep from the dozens of runs and the coypu , as well as the chorus of 10,000,000 frogs.
The guy on fish farm was very helpful , offering fresh live baits every few days and some tips, but wasn't a fisherman to be honest ( e xcept with large nets, hehe).
It w as a great lake to spend our first French fishing holiday on - i t also turned my father into a keen carp fisherman as he had only had a handful of carp in the UK previous to our trip. |

63 were commons, 37 were mirrors and 2 were tench.
