General comments: I think you should vet your lakes better, not just admit anyone with a lake. The lake is just a square hole cut in a field, featureless and boring!

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Plenty of particle and brightly coloured baits and tiger nut. Fish responded to large amounts of bait (150kilo used)

General comments: Good week's fishing, quite happy with the facilities, weather a bit mixed but all in all a good holiday, would go again.

Were you happy with them? No. The cooker only has 3 rings, the grill was not working.

General comments: The venue is nice, the photos of the lake do not do it justice. The caravan was ok but the kitchen needs sorting. Angling Lines note:- Owner aware:- The cooker is in the process of being replaced and the owner has plans to re-furbish the caravan over winter ready for 2008.

Brief details of your catches: Best fish 46lb Mirror, 10 between 30lb and 38lb, 16 between 20lb and 29lb. 22 doubles. Numerous singles, mainly from cat lake, no cats. Fishing days only.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Tiger nut crunch boilies and halibut pellets popped up in the silty areas.

Were the facilities what you expected? As expected.

General comments: There seems to be a pattern of the carp lake being slow to start and the fish are a bit wary, we found the best results came when fishing slack lines to avoid spooking the fish. On the cooker, grill front plate falls down and can cause a burn if you are opening the oven. Plus knobs on cooker missing.

Brief details of your catches: 47 fish in total. 38 carp, biggest 48.04lbs, made up of 11 singles, 8 doubles, 17 twenties, 1 thirty and 1 forty. Fishing in the carp lake we also caught 4 tench, the 35lb sturgeon twice and 1 catfish of 19.08lbs. Fishing in the catfish lake we caught 2 cats of 51lbs and 92lbs in one afternoon. We also caught some small carp and other coarse fish such as roach, rudd and bream on float in the catfish lake.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: The fish didn't seem to be focused on anything in particular, and as a result we caught on a variety of baits including quest special crab and fruity trifle boilies, popped up plastic corn and pellets. Catfish came to large halibut pellets. Make sure your tackle is up to the catfish, if in doubt go to the tackle shop in Angers to get appropriate gear.

Were you happy with them? The mobile home needs some attention but otherwise yes

General comments: The fishing was harder than last year, however we still had a reasonable week. The weather was different every day which probably didn't help along with the amount of bait that some parties had been putting into the lake recently. It is only a small lake and probably didn't respond well to being 'filled in'.

Brief details of your catches: Approximately 35 fish (Carp and Catfish.) Biggest carp 39lb, biggest cat 90lb 8oz.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Very hard fishing this year, the previous two parties had a tremendous amount of fish, this, aswell as poor weather may have had a lot to do withour lack of fish.Tried different baits, rigs, locations; still really slow, but enjoyed it all the same.

General comments: Apart from hard fishing, facilities on site and locally were, as usual, very good. Laurent was as helpful as ever, we will return another year.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Small PVA bags full of pellet and chopped boilies caught the most. Tiger Nut Crunch worked well, tiger nuts seemed to pick up the smaller fish. Don't overfeed, didn't use much bait at all!!

Were the facilities what you expected? Not really, Caravan need sorting/ replacing, oven needs replacing

Were you happy with them? It was alright for 3 lads, not really for a family

General comments: Very nice lakes and surroundings, fishing was hard at first with the conditions being very poor, but we persevered and the fish came. Most bites seem to come after it rained. Laurent was very kind and made us feel welcome. I'm sure we will return for the bigger cats next year

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: We had many fish with a lot of 30's & 40's & 1 50lb carp. It was fishing hard at times but keep at it and they'll come. They also seemed to follow the wind towards back bank.

General comments: Caravan is really not up to a family holiday. The cooker is still poor with broken knobs (although working ok), freezer door broken, one of the seat bases is broken and generally starting to look shabby now. This is my 3rd visit now and the caravan is really starting to show its age. For a group of lads not really a problem but wives and girlfriends not happy. We had to purchase some bowls for soup and cereal which we have left. Other than the caravan, the venue and fishing is brilliant and I would go again anytime and would not hesitate to reccomend it. There were some issues with bulbs and light fitting not working but Laurant very helpful and even turned up with a couple of bottles of wine one night

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Popped-up tiger nut for carp, mackerel heads for cats. Not too much feed at once. All fish in mint condition. A bait boat does help. Upgrade tackle for cats. Lots of snags.

Were the facilities what you expected? Better, spot on.

Were you happy with them? Yes. Caravan & showers great 100%.

General comments: Fantastic place to be. Many thanks to Angling Lines and also to Laurent, the fish farmer, for his help when needed - top man. I would love to be there now.
