Rules 

On arrival, all mats, nets, weigh slings and neoprene waders must be dipped in the disinfectant provided. Thank you.

  1. Angler's shelters must be green or camouflage
  2. Please be very careful if you use the track at the side of the lake.  In wet  conditions it becomes very muddy & it's easy to get stuck. but even in dry conditions its badly rutted and you could damage your car - please be careful.
  3. It is permitted to use a 3-rod set up, plus one light float or quiver rod per angler. The fourth rod cannot be fished with live bait, dead bait, boilies or a bite alarm.
  4. Rods that are fishing, must be attended at all times.
  5. Please be organised to photograph, weigh and return your catch to the lake with care and efficiency.
  6. On arrival you will be asked to pay a refundable deposit of 50 Euros and asked to sign a contract to abide by these regulations.

 

 

EACH ANGLER MUST HAVE AND USE THIS ESSENTIAL CARP WELFARE EQUIPMENT:

  • UNHOOKING MAT - Filled with polystyrene balls, min. size 30" x 38" (70cm x 90cm) and at least 1.5" (4cm) thick with padded shoulders. (Approved mats include: Badger, Ultimat and Pelzer safe mat) Please have a container filled with lake water to hand for pre-wetting the mat to minimise stress and damage to the fish.
  • LANDING NET - Large, min 42" (90cm) arms. (Aluminium spreader block recommended.)
  • WEIGH SLING - Large PVC slings only. (Approved slings include: Badger and Fox) (scales capable of reaching 50lbs recommended)
  • DISINFECTANT - For treating hook wounds please.
  • TORCHES - Headlamps only please.

If you arrive without this essential equipment, you will be refused access to the fishery

  1. MAIN LINE - Mono only . Max. 0.35mm, min. 0.3mm. (Recommended diameter .32mm - .33mm ) Braided mainline is not allowed.
  2. HOOKLINKS - Braid or mono. Super thin braids such as Fire Line etc. are not allowed, if in doubt ask before you use and take alternatives with you.
  3. LEADS - Lead set-ups must prove to break-free with minimal force.
  4. HOOKS - Maximum size 2, minimum size 6. Simple pattern barbless only , flattened barbs or bent hooks are not acceptable . (Patterns with an inturned point and a straight eye recommended)
  5. PARTICLES - Must be pre-soaked and then boiled until the core is soft and moist. No peanuts or tiger nuts.
  6. CARS - Must be parked in the designated parking area. No vehicles to leave the site during darkness.
NOT ALLOWED: - under any circumstances
  1. LEADERS - No snag, shock or lead core leaders. (The main line must be tied direct to the hook link swivel).
  2. CARP SACKS - The sacking of carp is strictly forbidden. ( Should you be found in possession of a carp sack, you will be escorted from the lake immediately.)
  3. BOATS - Boats are not allowed. Baitboats are OK.
  4. BAIT- Dumping left over bait into the lake is prohibited.
  5. THE MUTILATION OF FISH IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.
  6. Dogs, camp fires and barbecues are not permitted.

There is a ZERO LITTER policy in force at the lake, (this includes fag ends and tea bags) - All rubbish to be put in bin liner and deposited in bin at the end of the track.

Please treat the tranquillity of the site and nature within this National Park with respect

These regulations are not negotiable and no excuses are accepted .

Anglers found to be breaking the rules will forfeit their deposit, further non-compliance results in being escorted from the lake.
