Details: Additional Stock Added November 29th 2006
The additional stock went into the lake today and consisted of 56 fish;
4 x 33lb+ (largest 36lb)
20 x 26lb to 32lb
All the rest 22lb+

Details: Netting completed sucessfully - awaiting additional stock
News just in from David at Sauvelliere.
Having dropped the water by 1 metre he had the professional netsmen in to remove some of the unwanted small carp. They took out 350kg of carp between 1 and 3kg. This will benefit the lake no end as the bigger fish will not now have the competition for food - weight gains will be significant now. Around 85 of the big carp turned up in the nets too - biggest weighing in at just under 40lbs.
With the lower water levels David also took the opportunity to remove some of the underwater snags around the island. He's still left plenty of overhanging cover (much loved by the carp) but it's now clear below water which will be much safer for the fish.
On order are around 45 additional carp, mostly 20lb+ fish with a number of good thirties. These will be delivered before Xmas hopefully & we'll have our cameras there to record it. Watch this space!
With this additional stocking supplementing the current stock, plus reduced competition from the smaller fish, we've every confidence that Sauvelliere is set to become a top class carp fishery.

Details: A brace of 30's for William Watkins from Sauvelliere
Fourteen year old William Watkins had a great three day session on the Etang de Sauvelliere in the Mayenne region, during the filming of the Angling Lines video on the last weekend of April.
Using Quest Baits Crab Specials and Rahja Spice he notched up a tally of nine carp including a brace of thirties at 35lb and 31lb 8oz.
The total for the 3 days was:
35lb; 26lb 8oz, 22lb, 18lb 8oz, 18lb, 22lb 31lb 8oz; 22lb 8oz and 24lb.
All fish came on a snowman rig fished to the island margin from the lodge swim.
